Ordinance No. 2020-18 waives any license renewal for the May 1, 2020 - April 30, 2021 period, the current fiscal year. Businesses that have paid liquor licenses or other license fees to the City this year will receive a refund. New licenses issued with an effective date after May 1, 2020 shall pay the required fee. License renewal fees will continue to be waived for the 2021-22 fiscal year. Visit Outdoor Dining, Curbside, and Carryout for license guidance from the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.

The City Council approved a 12-month repayment plan to assist customers who have been unable to pay their utility bills in full. Customers are required to complete a repayment plan application by Nov. 21. The first payment will be due by Jan. 1, 2021. All utility bills issued after Nov. 22 will be subject to late fees. The Public Works Department will resume water and electric disconnections starting in May 2021 for customers who do not participate or stay current with their plan payments. Repayment FAQs
Ordinance No. 2020-19 suspends the 5% Municipal Utility Tax for water on customers’ monthly utility bills from July 15 - Dec. 14, 2020.
