The Cities of Geneva and St. Charles teamed up regarding the future reconstruction and widening of Kautz Road from just north of State Street (Route 38) to Swenson Avenue.
Construction is anticipated to start in spring 2024.
The public was invited to an open house in 2020 at the Geneva Public Works Department. Staff from both cities were available to discuss the road's existing conditions and proposed improvements and answer any questions. Written comments also were accepted.
People can view the open house presentation slides to learn more about the project.
In 2017, the City of Geneva commissioned WBK Engineering to study an extension of Kautz Road from State Street (Route 38) to Fabyan Parkway. The Kautz Road Extension Phase 1 Study expands the original scope of the Kautz Road extension to serve future industrial development. This project is part of the City’s Southeast Subarea Plan of 2012.
The City of Geneva held a Public Information Meeting in 2017 to present the proposed improvements and to obtain public comments.
