Ridge Lane Drainage Project

Ridge Lane Drainage Project 1 Opens in new window

Project Overview

A City contractor conducted a stormwater drainage improvement project for several homes along Ridge Lane on Geneva's east side.

Work took place in the alley behind homes located at 25 to 49 Ridge Lane. Stark and Son Trenching began the project Sept. 22 and finished operations Oct. 30.

The improvement was done to prevent or reduce ponding in residential backyards after significant rainfalls. The City brought a 6-inch drain pipe to each property line for the homeowners to tie into. This work was done at no cost to the residents. If people are interested in extending this pipe beyond their property line, they can personally negotiate a price with the contractor.

The alley was regraded and paved following the installation.

The disruption from construction was minimal, but trucks were turning in and out of the alley highlighted in the map (click the map to view a larger version.)

The project was officially completed by Oct. 30. Thanks to all the residents for their cooperation and patience during construction.
