Interested in purchasing an electric vehicle? EVs continue to grow in popularity and are expected to account for 50% of auto sales by 2030. Driving an EV saves owners money on gas but also helps reduce greenhouse gasses and pollution.
In order to provide safe, reliable electricity and advance sustainable transportation, the City's Community Development Department and Public Works Department electric division are working together to meet the future EV charging needs regarding new development projects in Geneva. The City also is working with the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus on a number of objectives to help increase the number of electric charging stations in the community. Stay tuned for more details.
In the meantime, there are several resources available to help residents make an EV purchase or find a location to charge their car.
