The seventh part in a series of City-themed ornaments, this year's ornament features the Moore House. The building is now home to The Little Traveler. The original Italianate Victorian home was built by banker A.B. Moore in 1862 at 404 S. Third St.
The property was sold in 1919 to Edmund and Kate Raftery, whose interest in unusual imported items from across the globe led her to open a shop in 1922.
Named The Little Traveler in 1925, the family business has grown considerably from the original residence, which now serves as the center section of the 36-room store. The venture became the foundation for Geneva’s charming historic downtown, spurring other individually-owned specialty shops to open along the City’s now famous Third Street shopping district.
Pewter material, diameter of 2.25" inches.
