A bad section of underground cable caused 41 Geneva customers to lose power at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 21.
Impacted customers resided within an area of Fargo Boulevard, Eagle Brook Drive, Lois Court, Kummer Court, and Brigham Way. The City's Public Works Department crews were able to isolate the faulty section of cable and restore power in stages, from 11 p.m. Oct. 21 to 2:45 a.m. Oct. 22.
As a reminder, residents should call the Geneva Police Department's non-emergency phone number at 630-232-4736 to report power outages taking place after-hours and on the weekends. Police will dispatch the on-call Public Works Electric Division staff to respond to matter.
As an FYI, the City's online request tracker and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
