Thirty-eight customers lost power April 27 due to a faulty underground cable in the Prairieview Estates subdivision on the west side of Geneva.

The service disruption began at 10:14 p.m. The outage area impacted residents living on Willowbrook Way, Wheatland Circle, Barnside Circle, and Prairieview Drive.

The Geneva Public Works Department isolated the fault and restored customers in stages, with 52% back online at 11:40 p.m. to the final 10 customers at 12:35 a.m. April 28.

As a reminder, residents should report outages occurring after hours and on weekends to the Geneva Police Department non-emergency number at 630-232-4736. Police will then dispatch the on-call Public Works personnel. The City does not monitor social media channels and the online request system 24 hours a day.
