The Geneva Public Works responded to a fallen tree that landed on power lines and broke an electric pole Dec. 4 on Geneva’s east side.
The fallen private property tree was discovered by a Geneva Police officer at 9:30 a.m. To safely remove the tree and repair the pole, Public Works notified nine customers who would be impacted by a planned power outage in the 300 & 400 blocks of East State Street, the 0 to 100 block of Woodlawn Street, and the 0 to 100 block of School Street.
Crews restored service at 3:30 p.m. after removing the tree and replacing the pole.
