The Geneva Public Works Department responded to a small power outage July 12 on the east side of Geneva.
The incident occurred at 11 a.m. due to a broken cutout, which is a combination of a fuse and a switch used in primary overhead feeder lines to protect distribution transformers from surges and overloads. Seven customers in the 0 to 100 block of Woodlawn Street as well as the 400 and 500 blocks of East State Street (Route 38) lost service.
Geneva Public Works changed out the broken cutout to restore power by 11:12 a.m.
