More than 1,350 Geneva customers in the Fisher Farms subdivision lost power Aug. 18 after lightning struck electrical equipment.
Geneva Public Works responded to the west side outage, which was reported to the City at 7:57 p.m. Crews were able to close out an electric switch to restore service by 9:10 p.m.
The best way to report power outages occurring after-hours, weekends and holidays is to call the Geneva Police Department non-emergency phone number at 630-232-4736. Police will then dispatch the appropriate on-call Public Works staff to investigate the outage.
The City's SeeClickFix non-emergency request portal and the City's social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
