Geneva Public Works said 31 customers lost power July 29 due to an underground cable fault on the City's west side.
The incident occurred at 6:37 a.m. and impacted customers on Lewis Road, Danford Way and the 2700-2800 blocks of Miller Road.
Public Works crews isolated the bad section of cable and switched the customers to another power source in the City. Service was fully restored by 9:14 a.m.
The cable fault momentarily dropped power to 425 customers serviced by the City's South Street electric feeder.
The best way to report power outages occurring after-hours, weekends and holidays is to call the Geneva Police Department non-emergency phone number at 630-232-4736. Police will then dispatch the appropriate on-call Public Works staff to investigate the outage.
The City's SeeClickFix non-emergency request portal and the City's social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
