The primary project involves installing a new water main on the state highway from State (Route 38) to Jefferson streets. Construction began in October 2023 and should be completed in early January 2024.

Dec. 20 Update

The City is notifying 13 property owners of a scheduled water shutdown on Thursday, Dec. 21 as construction crews abandon the old water main on Route 25 (from East State to Jefferson streets) and connect to the new infrastructure.

The water will be turned off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 21 for the following properties:

East State Street Addresses

12, 102, 113, 114, 125, and 133

North Bennett Street Addresses

201, 208, 209, 220, 221, 224, and 227

The Geneva Public Works Department is passing out notices Dec. 20. A boil order will be issued to those 13 properties only due to the water main being shut down. Other properties located near the construction zone will not be impacted by the boil order.
