The City of Geneva had been working on a water main infrastructure project along the Route 25 corridor (North Bennett Street) since October 2023. The primary project involved installing a new water main on the state highway from State (Route 38) to Jefferson streets.
Jan. 17 Update
The Route 25 water main project has been substantially completed, and the state highway has been reopened to traffic Jan. 17.
After allowing the final section of concrete to cure, the barricades were removed at the State Street intersection and along the corridor. The detour signs on Fabyan Parkway, Kirk Road and Route 64 (St. Charles) will be collected in the coming days.
Additional sidewalk work, landscape restoration and miscellaneous punch list items are scheduled to be finished in the coming months.
The City appreciates the community’s patience during the past several months to complete this necessary infrastructure improvement.
