A lightning strike caused a power outage March 14 near Route 31 and Easton Avenue.
The service disruption began at 5:56 a.m. impacting 29 customers living on or near Easton Avenue from Route 31 to Meadows Road.
Geneva Public Works crews replaced lightning arrestors on four transformers, fixed two damaged cutouts and fuses, and returned a fallen electric wire to its correct position. Power was turned back on in stages from 9:05 to 11:05 a.m. March 14.
As a reminder, customers can report power outages after hours by calling the Geneva Police Department’s non-emergency number at 630-232-4736. The City's online request system and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
