Due to the early arrival of snow and freezing temperatures, the City's curbside leaf program has been temporarily suspended for Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 12-13. Frozen, snow-covered leaves tend to jam up the vacuum equipment on the trucks and has slowed progress to date.
Kramer Tree Specialists, the City's contractor, is hoping to resume operations Thursday, Nov. 14 and continue working into Saturday, Nov. 16, weather permitting. Residents are encouraged to have their leaf piles accessible and unobstructed by vehicles to help crews move more efficiently.
When collection does restart, crews will be finishing up the first pickup in Zone A (east side) and continuing the second round in Zones B & C (west side) this week. Stay tuned to the Leaf Collection web page for additional updates in the coming days and follow the program's progress map.
Even with the unexpected weather delays, the City of Geneva is committed to providing residents with three curbside leaf collection cycles. We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we push through what Mother Nature has dished out to complete the program.
Residents who still have questions regarding the leaf pickup can call the City's Public Works Department at 630-232-1501.
