Fabyan Windmill

Geneva ranks as one of Illinois' best small towns for retirees by World Atlas, a large publishing resource in geography covering sociology, demography, environment, economics, and travel.

The 13 top small Illinois towns to retire were rated the best for being/having:

  • Tranquil,
  • A lively cultural scene,
  • Prioritizing health care and facilities, and
  • A fun-filled location to live after retirement.

"Geneva is a good choice if you fancy a small, beautiful community and suburban feel, signaling a historic downtown and homely attractions," World Atlas stated.

The article highlighted Geneva's beautiful natural areas offered at Wheeler Park, the Fabyan Villa Museum & Japanese Garden, Peck Farm Park, and Island Park. Residents can take a trip back in time by visiting the City's historic district and Geneva History Museum; enjoy the Geneva's vibrant dining scene; or find entertainment options at the Fox Valley Ice Arena and Northwestern Medicine Field, according to the article.
