[ARCHIVED] Check Out Swedish Days Entertainment Lineup

Swedish Days Entertainment Ron Burgundys

Geneva Chamber of Commerce’s 74th annual Swedish Days Festival runs from Wednesday to Sunday, June 19-23 in downtown Geneva and has an array of talent that offers something for every type of music fan.

“Bringing a mix of genres and styles to the festivals is always top of mind. We begin on Wednesday with the Swedish American Children’s Choir as well as Geneva Park District performances and Geneva’s Got Talent semi-finals. This has allowed the Geneva Chamber to bring new bands each evening to Central Stage, Thursday through Saturday. We hope the audience enjoys returning favorites and new additions,” noted Johanna Patterson, Communications Director of Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

June 19

Wednesday evening’s Central Stage entertainment will begin at 4:30 p.m. as we welcome you with a traditional Swedish promenade with music. At 5:30 p.m., enjoy live performances by various groups from the Geneva Park District including dance and cheer performances. Immediately following will be the semifinalists from “Geneva’s Got Talent” performances.

June 20

Do not miss “Geneva’s Got Talent” finalists, starting at 5 p.m. The evening entertainment continues at 7 p.m. with The Flat Cats. Based in Chicago, the Flat Cats play a range of vintage and modern music from standards of the big band swing era to contemporary classics, providing quality entertainment for all walks of life. This group of six talented musicians has been together for over 15 years bringing their love of music and audience engagement to the forefront.

Starting at 3 p.m., Blue Eyed Leo, a Chicago area acoustic duo with deep "classic rock" roots and a strong passion for the enduring sounds of contemporary artists, takes the stage. At 5 p.m., Rico, a band with a rich sound of diversified musical cultures, takes the stage. A mixture of sophisticated melodic genres and ethnicity coming together is the essence of Rico. And to round out the night at 7 p.m., Libido Funk Circus is back. Libido Funk Circus began as an over-the-top tribute to the disco music of the 70s and has continued to entertain a wide range of audiences for over 20 years. Along with beloved disco hits, the band also plays hundreds of dance and rock songs, spanning from the 60s through today.

June 22

Saturday is sure to be a slam dunk with basketball on Third Street at 4 p.m., followed by Classical Blast at 5 p.m. Classical Blast performs classic rock music melded with famed classical music, all on classical & rock instruments. Their signature summer show features classic rock music from the late 1960s to current hits, all mashed with music by the great composers: Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, Chopin, and others. Make no mistake, this show rocks.

Closing out the Swedish Days central stage at 7 p.m. is The Ron Burgundy’s, who bring the music and the fun to all their shows. This live band delivers all your favorite yacht rock and softcore hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. They play tribute to artists like Kenny Loggins, Toto, Huey Lewis, Fleetwood Mac, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, and many more.
