The Kane County Division of Transportation has started its annual urethane pavement marking program in various sections of the County.
Geneva highways that are included in the scope of work are:
- Randall Road north of Kaneville Road to Route 64 in St. Charles;
- Route 31 and Fabyan Parkway intersection;
- Kirk Road from the Fox Valley Ice Arena to Averill Road; and
- Fabyan Parkway from Kirk Road to the Kane/DuPage County border.
Work began the week of Aug. 12 and is anticipated to be completed within eight weeks. The project will involve replacing old paint with fresh paint to enhance driver safety. Hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
Temporary daily lane closures will be necessary to allow drying time for the paint and to protect vehicles from wet paint. Motorists may want to add additional time to their commutes or consider alternate routes.
