[ARCHIVED] Geneva's Underground Electric Replacement Project Starts In October

Public Works News

The City will be enhancing electric service reliability by replacing underground utility cable in the Dover Ridge subdivision starting the week of Oct. 7.

The 2024-25 underground electric replacement program will get underway in the subdivision, located off Burgess and Kaneville roads.

The City’s contractor, Utility Dynamics, will directionally bore new conduit through utility easements and then pull wire through the conduit. Electrical transformers and street lights also will be replaced. Scheduled power outages will be required as part of the project. The City will be sending out notifications in advance of any service disruption.

Construction is expected to be substantially completed by March 2025, weather permitting. Landscape restoration work will commence once construction is finished.

A project map and additional information can be found on the City’s website. Questions can be directed to Jennifer Hilkemann; the City’s Electric Division Manager of Distribution, Construction & Maintenance; by calling 630-232-1503 or sending her an email.
