Nicor will be replacing natural gas mains on both sides of the Fox River in Geneva beginning with equipment mobilization in late April.
Nicor has provided a project map detailing the various sections in Geneva where replacements are scheduled to occur. Construction and installation will be primarily completed through underground boring, but will also involve some pavement cutting and road closures. The project is expected to be completed in the next four to five months, weather permitting.
Nicor is expected to reach out to impacted homes and businesses since the gas main replacement project will require reconnecting properties with the new infrastructure.
While the City of Geneva is providing information to the community, the City has no authority or control over Nicor's project. The details shared by the City are only as good as the information provided to us by Nicor.
