The City of Geneva will be replacing a utility pole that has structurally deteriorated on the southeast corner of Burgess and Kaneville roads.

To replace the pole, Burgess Road will be closed the week of July 14 to through traffic south of Kaneville Road due to a lack of visibility for drivers.

With Burgess Road closed at the intersection, a detour route will be implemented during normal construction hours (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) on weekdays. Drivers traveling on Kaneville Road will be detoured south on Southhampton Drive, east on South Street and north on Burgess Road. The detour will be reversed for residents departing Burgess Road.

After working hours, Burgess Road will be temporarily reopened to traffic until the intersection is shut down again the following morning. Burgess Road will be fully reopened to traffic once the utility pole has been replaced.
