The City of Geneva will have a materials contractor coming Friday, Aug. 8, to collect asphalt cores in four locations along South Street.

The core samples will be taken throughout the day from the roadway, ranging from Eighth Street to Gary Lane. Flaggers will be present to allow for two-way traffic, but motorists should expect minor delays at this moving work site.

The City is evaluating the existing asphalt quality to determine the best course of action for future street improvements in the area. For more information, call the Geneva Public Works Department at 630-232-1501.
