Kane County’s annual asphalt rejuvenator program is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 2, weather permitting. The lone Geneva project on the County's list is a stretch of Fabyan Parkway near Western Avenue.

The program applies an asphalt sealer and rejuvenator to roads that were resurfaced within the last year, helping extend the life of the pavement. This preventative maintenance reduces oxidation of the asphalt and prevents water from seeping in, protecting against freeze/thaw damage during the winter months.

Work will begin in the central part of Kane County and progress south over the course of four to five weeks, depending on weather conditions. Construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

During this time, roads will remain open, but traffic will be reduced to one lane with the use of flaggers and temporary daily lane closures. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the work zones, watch for crews and equipment, and avoid driving on the treated roadway until directed by flaggers.
