The City of Geneva Development Projects Map has been updated with details about the January 12 special City Council meeting for the appeal of the 4 E. State Street Historic Landmark Demolition request. A reversal or modification of the Historic Preservation Commission’s (HPC) determination requires not less than two-thirds of the alderpersons holding office (7 votes). At the City Council meeting, 6 alderpersons voted in favor of overturning the HPC and 4 voted to uphold the HPC's decision. As such, the appeal failed and demolition is denied.
