[ARCHIVED] City Flag Lowered For Former Geneva Police Chief & Community Contributor

City Hall Flag Lowered

The City flag outside Geneva City Hall has been lowered to half-staff in  memory of former Geneva Police Chief Glenn McConnaughay and community  contributor Sally Ruark.

Mr. McConnaughay, 96, was served in World War II in the Army Air Core as  a military police officer during the Pacific Theater. He began his  career in law enforcement in 1949 and was Geneva's Police Chief for 12  years.

Mrs. Ruark, 85, was a stalwart friend of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.  As an artist, she created sculpture, paintings, drawings, installations  and the City logo for Geneva.

Obituaries for can be found online for both Mr. McConnaughay and Mrs. Ruark. The City of Geneva would like to express our condolences to both families and friends on their loss.
