[ARCHIVED] City Offices Closed For MLK Day, Garbage Pickup Unchanged

MLK Day

Geneva City Hall and other City offices with the exception of the Police and Fire departments will be closed Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Garbage pickup the week of Jan. 15 will remain on the normal Thursday-Friday collection schedule. For more information about Geneva's refuse and recycling services, visit the City's website.

With many businesses observing MLK Day, people will be participating in volunteer projects across the country in the spirit of the former civil rights leader. The City of Geneva supports this cause and offers several great volunteer possibilities listed online that can be taken up by an individual or groups throughout the year.

Additional volunteer opportunities can be found at All For Good and the Corporation For National & Community Service.
