[ARCHIVED] Winter Weather Operations Update - Jan. 20 & 21

Geneva's Weather Central here again to give you the latest information. The Wind Chill Advisory is set to expire at 10 a.m. The temperature is currently 0 degrees but it still feels like -22 at this point. Please dress warmly, since the high is only expected to be 9 degrees. Also, make sure to check on elderly neighbors.

After working on snow emergency routes last night and this morning, Public Works crews are currently addressing residential streets. This work should be done in the next several hours. Motorists should be careful when driving because road salt is not very effective at these low temperatures.

The contractor did attempt to scrape downtown parking lots as best as possible last night, but given the cold conditions, will need to return again this evening to complete the clean-up.

Thanks to those residents who are keeping their fire hydrants clear of snow.
