[ARCHIVED] Winter Weather Advisory Issued Through 6 A.M. Jan. 25; Remove Parked Cars From The Street

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Kane County through 6 a.m. Saturday. Winds of 25 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 45 to 50 MPH hit our area. Snow is expected to develop late this afternoon and evening with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible.

Blowing and drifting snow will occur with the strong winds and will worsen with the addition of falling and accumulating snow tonight. Roads will become snow covered and hazardous.

Please take time to remove your parked cars from the street to help with our snow plowing operations.

We wish we had better news to start your weekend, but please drive safely tonight if you have to be out on the roads. Cars need to be removed from designated "Emergency Snow Routes" if the snowfall reaches 2 inches and residential streets if it is 3 inches.
