[ARCHIVED] City Flag Lowered For Longtime Zoning Board Of Appeals Member, Volunteer

City Hall Flag Lowered

The Geneva flag outside City Hall was lowered to half-staff March 12 in memory of longtime community volunteer George Krippner, who passed away March 5 at the age of 80.

Mr. Krippner served on the City's Zoning Board of Appeals, an advisory commission, from 1985 to 2010. After moving to Geneva in 1967, he and his wife Sheila raised five children in their home on Peyton Street. Outside of his work as a lawyer, he was active in the community coaching basketball, timing swim meets, as well as serving on boards with St. Peters and Marmion Academy.

Mr. Krippner's obituary can be found online. The City flag will remain lowered until 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 14.

The City of Geneva would like to express its condolences to the Krippner family for their loss.
