[ARCHIVED] Pace Customers Will No Longer Be Able To Flag Down Buses

Pace announced customers will no longer be able to flag down buses as the agency converts all of its routes to a posted-stops operation in the future.

Pace notified the City of the change, which was made as part of a network evaluation to improve customer service, safety and on-time performance. The operational improvement is being made as part of the agency's long-term plans to modernize the system with transit signal priority implementation and to provide better information to the public about where bus routes operate.

Pace stated a detailed study was conducted to identify bus locations along Route 801, which runs through Geneva. Within a few weeks, Pace and its contractor will begin relocation or installing new bus stop signs at the following locations:


Intersection

Corner

Geneva Metra Station
Southwest
State and Third streets
Northeast
State and Sixth streets
Northeast
State Street and Anderson Boulevard
Northeast
State and Pine streets
Northeast
State Street and Williamsburg Avenue
Northeast
