The Kane County Division of Transportation is scheduled to start its annual road resurfacing program, which will include four projects in Geneva.Work is scheduled to begin the week of May 21, weather permitting. Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with temporary daily lane closures and flaggers directing traffic. The resurfacing process is part of an annual maintenance to increase the longevity of County roads. The program will consist of milling and resurfacing, asphalt patching, structure adjustments and curb and gutter replacement work on portions of 10 roads (four in Geneva). The contractor will remove and replace portions of the curb and gutter on the roads, then mill and pave the roadway. This work is anticipated to take approximately five months to complete, weather permitting. Listed below are the Geneva roads included in this year's program:
The roads will remain open during construction but may include temporary daily lane closures and flaggers. Motorists should expect long delays when traveling through the work areas and should add additional time to their commutes. Drivers are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, obey flaggers and comply with traffic control devices within the work zone. People may want to consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed. For more information, including other County roads scheduled for resurfacing, visit the County's website. Questions and concerns should be directed to the Kane County Division of Transportation's David Sitko at 630-313-0754.
