Geneva Police responding to a report of a potentially armed person inside a home June 5 in the 200 block of Wakefield Lane have deemed the incident unfounded.
A woman was able to leave the residence on her own accord. She then drove her car down the block and called 911 from her cell phone at 11:54 a.m. Multiple Geneva Police units responded to the home given the alleged safety concerns.
Officers secured the area and ensured neighboring residents remained safely inside their homes. A man inside the Wakefield Lane home willingly exited the residence to speak to officers. Upon further investigation, the original complaint was determined to be unfounded. No arrests were made and no criminal charges are pending.
Police were able to restore the neighborhood back to normal activity by 12:40 p.m.
