[ARCHIVED] Lakeshore Recycling Begins Garbage Service In July

Lakeshore Recycling Systems Garbage Truck

Lakeshore Recycling's garbage contract with the City of Geneva is now in effect as of July 1. Collection days will remain the same, but pickup the week of July 2 will be pushed back one day later than normal due to the Independence Day holiday.

Garbage collection will take place Friday and Saturday, July 6-7 and will then resume on the normal Thursday-Friday schedule going forward.

Lakeshore has completed a majority of its recycling and optional garbage cart distribution throughout the City and is finishing the Allendale subdivision July 2. Residents whose homes may have been missed that are serviced by the City's garbage contract, should contact Lakeshore Recycling's customer service department at 630-581-8650 or send them an email.

Residents can start using Lakeshore's blue refuse stickers for garbage, yard waste, bulk goods and electronics recycling. If residents still have yellow Advanced Disposal stickers, Lakeshore will be honoring them during the month of July. Stickers are not required for residents who have chosen to subscribe for monthly garbage or yard waste carts.

For complete Lakeshore garbage, recycling and refuse service information, visit the City's website.

Advanced Disposal

Advanced Disposal, the City's previous waste hauler, removed a majority of its recycling and garbage carts following the company's final pickup in Geneva June 28-29. Residents who still have an Advanced cart should put them back at the curb and leave it there until it has been removed. Advanced will be having crews continue to remove carts in July.

For residents who may be on vacation and cannot arrange for a neighbor to put carts out at the curb, contact Advance Disposal’s customer service department via email or by calling 630-587-8282.
