[ARCHIVED] Geneva Honored As Best Place To Live by 'Chicago Magazine'

Geneva continues to be a premier community to work, live, play and raise a family after being recognized as one of Chicago’s best places to live in the April edition of “Chicago Magazine.”

The Magazine ranked 12 Chicago neighborhoods and 12 suburbs based on low crime, schools, convenience to transportation, great homes, restaurants, shopping and friendly neighborhoods into the equation when creating its list.

“Chicago Magazine” said Geneva is a “former grain-mill town known for fun stuff to see and do. Just ask the tourists who flock here. There’s boating on the Fox River, baseball (the Class A Minor league Kane County Cougars) and fine dining (the excellent A Toda Madre). Stroll the historic district to see interesting examples of 19th century architecture, including a few Italiante manors with widow’s walks.”

The piece also highlighted Geneva Community Unit School District 304 for having the best grade school (Mill Creek) and high school (Geneva) in Kane County. Geneva’s violent crime rate also is 74 percent less compared to the county average.

Other suburbs making the list included Barrington, La Grange, Northbrook, Orland Park, Wilmette, Hinsdale, Wheaton, Highland Park, Lake Bluff, Woodstock and Frankfort. For more information, visit the “Chicago Magazine” website at the link below.
