Geneva and Batavia police officers will be teaming up at two Dunkin’ stores to collect donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s 17th annual Cop On a Rooftop event May 17. Money raised benefits Special Olympics Illinois.
Starting at 5 a.m. Friday, May 17, officers will be stationed on Dunkin’ rooftops at 2002 W. Wilson St. and 108 N. Batavia Ave., both in Batavia. Patrons who make a donation May 17 at a participating location will receive a free doughnut coupon. Guests donating at least $10 will earn a Law Enforcement Torch Run travel mug, while supplies last, and a coupon for a free medium coffee.
Torch Run T-shirts and hats also will be sold for various donation amounts.
The Cop on a Rooftop event is one of several fundraising platforms for the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which is a collaborative effort from police departments across the nation to raise money for Special Olympics.
