Geneva residents and visitors looking for a fun summer night out and about should mark their calendars for the RiverPark Summer Concert Series taking place along the scenic Fox River.
The four free concerts will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday nights in July at the park’s stone amphitheater located at North River Lane and Peyton Street. The series is sponsored by the City’s Cultural Arts Commission.
This year’s concert lineup features:
|July 7||Illinois Brass Band||Broadway, marches, pop and more|
|Aug. 25*||Alibi||Classic rock-n-roll and Motown favorites|
|July 21||The MacCartyns||Harmony rock from the 1960s|
|July 28||Northside Brass||Freelance musicians who perform with the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera|
*Due to weather, July 14 performance rescheduled to Aug. 25
All shows are free of charge, but donations to the Cultural Arts Commission are always welcome. People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket or even a picnic dinner to enjoy a beautiful evening along the Fox River. In case of inclement weather, performances will be moved inside to the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church of Geneva, 211 Hamilton St.
