The Kane County Division of Transportation is advising drivers to “Watch Your Signal” as KDOT initiates traffic signal staging adjustments at several busy intersections along Randall Road from Wednesday to Friday, July 17-19, weather permitting.
Signal staging adjustments will be conducted at the Bricher Road, Williamsburg Avenue and Fabyan Parkway intersections in Geneva. Adjustments to signal staging will be conducted to selected left turn lanes, which will affect when the left turn-green arrows are functioning in the signal cycle.
Certain left turn movements will initiate after through traffic is permitted to progress through the intersection, meaning opposing left turn lanes will not activate concurrently.
This adjustment is a change in the normal progression of signal phasing, and motorists should be advised to watch the signal in their lane of traffic closely. The adjustments are planned to more efficiently manage the progression of traffic along the Randall Road corridor.
Kane County also has posted a presentation online to help explain the improvements.
Questions and concerns may be directed to Stephen Zulkowski, Kane County Division of Transportation engineer, at 630-208-3139.
