Kane County will be embarking on a 14-month reconstruction project for the Fabyan Parkway and Kirk Road intersection starting the week of July 29.
Additional turn lanes and through lanes will increase safety and improve traffic operations of the intersection, according to the Kane County Division of Transportation. Work will consist of tree removal and replacement; earth excavation; storm sewer and drainage structures; water main relocation, hot-mix asphalt pavement; concrete pavement; sidewalk, curb and gutter installation; traffic signal modernization and lighting; shared-use path; and landscape restoration.
The anticipated completion date is September 2020, weather permitting.
Drivers should expect longer than normal traffic delays at this busy intersection along the Geneva/Batavia border. For more project details, read Kane County's news release.
