[ARCHIVED] Geneva Police Investigating Reported Shooting

The Geneva Police Department is continuing to investigate a reported shooting that took place at 9:13 p.m. Sept. 15 at Public Storage, 2324 Gary Lane.

Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old St. Charles man was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his neck and back. The man was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where he continues to be treated for his injuries Sept. 16. The man’s 26-year-old girlfriend, who was not injured during the shooting, spoke to police about the incident.

No suspect information is currently available, and no arrests have been made at this time. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was the intended target of the shooter. Police do not believe there is a threat to the general public at this time.

The incident remains an ongoing investigation, and future updates may be provided as more details become available. Geneva Police are requesting anyone with information about the shooting to call the department’s Investigations Division at 630-232-4736.
