[ARCHIVED] Geneva Police To Take The At Home Polar Plunge

The format may be different, but the Geneva Police Department is once again raising money for Special Olympics Illinois with a new look 2021 Law Enforcement Torch Run At Home Polar Plunge challenge.

Sgt. Brad Jerdee, Officer Chuck Parisi and Officer Mark Russo will be plunging in front of the Geneva Police Department at noon Friday, March 12. Police agencies across Illinois have had to come up with creative options to take the cold dip while also following proper social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Geneva Police Department is seeking donations from the community to meet its fundraising goal of $4,000. Donations can be made online by visiting the Police Department's Polar Plunge web page and clicking the "Roster" tab. Checks made out to "Special Olympics Illinois" also will be accepted at the Geneva Police Department, 20 Police Plaza, through Sunday, March 14. All proceeds will go toward supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in Special Olympics Illinois programs.
