[ARCHIVED] Sanitary Sewer Projects Continue On Rte 25, State St

City Road Construction

A City contractor will begin lining a sanitary sewer at 9 a.m. March 4 along State Street (Route 38) from First Street (Route 31) to the Fox River in downtown Geneva.

Eastbound traffic will be limited to one lane for the duration of the business day. The project should be completed prior to the evening rush hour. All westbound lanes will remain open.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area but should exercise caution if they plan to travel through the work zone.

FYI, Route 25 sanitary sewer lining operations between Euclid Avenue and Jefferson Street had to be halted March 3 due to equipment failure. A new date has not been officially determined, but it likely will take place the week of Mach 7. Work also is slated to take part that week on a different section of State Street. More details on both projects will be forthcoming.

For more information about Geneva's sanitary sewer improvements, visit the City's website or call the Public Works Department Water Division at 630-232-1551.
