[ARCHIVED] Sanitary Project To Close James St. Near Kaneville

City Road Construction

A private sanitary service repair will be taking place on Wednesday, April 13 on James Street between Kaneville Road and Lincoln Avenue. Due to the depth of the sanitary main, the City is allowing the contractor to temporarily close the road to through traffic for the duration of the repair, which is anticipated to be a single day.

Residents living on the block will still be able to access their driveways, but on-street parking will be prohibited April 13 on James Street from Kaneville Road to Lincoln Avenue.

The contractor has indicated it will do some preparatory work, such as mobilizing equipment and saw cutting the street in advance of the excavation to minimize additional tasks performed on April 13. The City expects the contractor will provide a temporary gravel road surface after the underground work is completed and will then repair the various layers of base and roadway surface in the following weeks.
