The City is working with Geneva Construction on 14 road resurfacing and drainage projects included in the 2022 street improvement program, which started in late July and is expected to be completed in October. Here is the Aug. 26 update:
The Geneva Public Works Department met with residents Aug. 25 living near alleys adjacent to Geneva Drive and Britta Lane to detail the upcoming construction and its impact on their refuse collection. Saw cutting of the pavement began Aug. 23 and continued the rest of the week. Pavement removal and replacement will begin on Monday, Aug. 29 and should be completed by Tuesday, Sept. 7, weather permitting. After the new concrete is poured, the surface will need a minimum of seven days to cure before garbage trucks can reaccess the alley.Residents who normally put their garbage in these two alleys are asked to place garbage and recycling in front of their homes on the street on the next three scheduled pickup days, including Thursday, Sept. 1, 8 and 15.
The upcoming construction schedule is weather permitting:
Saw cutting in the alleys near Britta Lane and Geneva Drive.
Removing and replacing concrete patching in the alley south of Geneva Drive.
Removing and replacing concrete patching in the alley by Britta Lane.
Milling begins on Viking Drive and Kaneville Road. Concrete curbs will be removed in the Redwing Drive area.
Paving starts on Viking Drive and Kaneville Road.
