The City has substantially completed 14 road resurfacing and drainage projects included in the 2022 street improvement program, which started in late July.
Pavement marking is scheduled to be completed the week of Nov. 14 on Kaneville Road, South Street, Redwing Drive, and Heather Road, according to the contractor.
Storm sewer replacement work is anticipated to start Wednesday, Nov. 16 and should take about one week, weather permitting.
Punch list items should be wrapped up in the next two weeks on Viking Drive as well as the alleys near Britta Lane and Manchester Course. All other work on the remaining roadways included in this year's program has been finished.
Center Street
One late addition to this week's update. Storm sewer work has begun Nov. 15 with pavement saw cutting on Center Street from Richards Street to Anderson Boulevard. Installation work is scheduled to start Thursday, Nov. 17 and should take about one week.
The contractor originally planned to keep the roadway open but has since decided it would be safer to close Center Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The roadway will be open to traffic overnight before being shut down again the following day.
The overall project should be wrapped up by the end of November.
