[ARCHIVED] Keslinger Road Included In Kane County Aspahlt Project

KDOT Road Construction

Kane County will begin applying an asphalt sealer/rejuvenator on roads resurfaced within the last two years starting the week of June 5, weather permitting. The County listed 10 highway projects, including Keslinger Road from Peck Road to Daniels Way in Geneva.

The process will involve applying the rejuvenator liquid, allowing the liquid to cure, placing sand on the treated roads for traction, and then sweeping up the excess material. Pavement preservation techniques utilize lower-cost maintenance improvements conducted early in the life cycle of the asphalt pavement by reducing the water penetration that leads to freeze/thaw damage and preventing oxidation of the asphalt material. Please exercise caution while traveling through the work zone, watch for equipment and workers, and stay off of the treated roadway until allowed by flaggers.

Work is expected to occur from the south end of the county progressing north. Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday for approximately three to four weeks, weather permitting.

The roads will remain open during treatment but will be reduced to one travel lane using flaggers and temporary daily lane closures.
