Starting the evening of Dec. 11, Kane County will be making bridge repairs on Kirk Road that will reduce northbound traffic to one lane over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.
Construction work hours will be from 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 until 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 on Kirk Road from Cherry Lane to State Street (Route 38).
The overnight work will include stabilizing the north bridge approach pavement using high density form to fill voids beneath the surface and to add new silicone bridge joint sealer.
Kane County asks motorists to pay attention to the new lane configurations and to watch for equipment and workers entering and leaving the work zone. The project may cause increased travel times through the area.
Questions and concerns can be directed to Ken Mielke, Kane County Division of Transportation, at 630-406-7172.
