[ARCHIVED] Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Shopping Center

An 85-year-old Geneva woman has been hospitalized after being struck by a car at 7:22 a.m. March 29 in the 2500 block of Miller Road.

The initial investigation revealed the woman was walking southbound near the entrance to the Shops of Randall Square. A 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by a 26-year-old Geneva man, was traveling eastbound on Miller Road. The driver did not observe the pedestrian in the roadway and subsequently struck the woman with his vehicle.

Geneva Police, along with the Geneva and Batavia fire departments, responded to the accident scene, which is about 190 feet west of Merchants Drive. The woman was initially transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva and then airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
