[ARCHIVED] Geneva Police Respond to Fatal Accident on Fabyan Parkway Aug. 10

On August 10th, 2016, at 4:36 p.m. Geneva Police and Batavia Fire Department were dispatched to a serious accident with injuries at the intersection of Fabyan Parkway and the Settlers Hill Golf Course entrance. According to witnesses, a subject who was operating a motorcycle (identity not being released at this time) was traveling westbound on Fabyan Parkway approaching the intersection of Settlers Hill Golf Course. The driver of the motorcycle failed to stop at the intersection and struck a pickup truck exiting Settlers Hill Golf Course onto Fabyan Parkway. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from the motorcycle and subsequently struck the roadway. Shortly after the driver of the motorcycle was transported to Delnor Hospital, the police were notified that the subject had succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

The accident is being investigated by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team (KCART) and Geneva Police Department. Due to the ongoing investigation, we will not speculate if drugs and/or alcohol were a contributing factor in the accident. The roadway has been re-opened.
