[ARCHIVED] Third Street Intersections To Be Closed For Roadway Surface Repairs

City Road Construction

The Geneva Public Works Department will be repairing segments of pavement the week of Sept. 26 that will require temporary downtown intersection closures along South Third Street.

Third Street will remain open to traffic throughout construction, but there will be closures on the side streets approaching Third Street, including Franklin Street, Fulton Street, and Crescent Place. Public Works will be repairing the roadway surface where the asphalt meets the concrete curbs.

Construction will start on the west side of Third Street with Crescent Place and Fulton Street on Monday, Sept. 26 followed by Franklin Street, Tuesday, Sept. 27. Operations will then shift to the east side of Third Street at Fulton and Franklin streets later that week with work anticipated to be completed by Friday, Sept. 30. Each cross street will be closed for one day at the most.

The schedule is weather dependent. For more information, call the Geneva Public Works Department at 630-232-1501.

Similar work will take place in the future for South Street (at Third Street), but that project has been incorporated as part of the City's Street Improvement Program.
