Happy New Year! January is generally one of the colder and snowier months of the winter season. Each winter, we respond to numerous traffic crashes that occur on snow and/or ice-covered roadways. I wanted to take a few minutes of your time to provide some basic winter driving reminders.

The holiday season is a special time of the year. It can be an opportunity to visit with friends and family that we do not get to see often enough. Unfortunately this busy time of year also leaves some vulnerable to theft and other crimes associated with the holiday season.

Geneva's recommended trick-or-treating hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. As a reminder, Halloween is not a City of Geneva holiday. The City does not provide guidance as to the cancellation of Halloween events due to weather. While Halloween weather can be very unpredictable, the decision to trick-or-treat is left to the discretion of individual families.
